Welcome to the Greater St. Louis Chapter website for the National Association of African  Americans in Human Resources (NAAAHR). It is with great pleasure and honor that I am    serving as our chapter’s President. NAAAHR is a professional association representing  the interests of people of color in Human Resources. We encourage and give power to our  membership through strategies that represent member interests as well as provide  relevant experiences to enhance their professional development.

NAAAHR is a dynamic and growing organization which exists to provide a forum where African American Human Resource professionals can gain information and experience, share best practices, and network. In addition, we seek to provide leadership and guidance on issues affecting your individual career, and the quality of work/life for other African Americans, while promoting the Human Resources profession. We seek to collaborate and share our expertise with community organizations, professional associations and corporations seeking to diverse applicant sourcing and best practice sharing.

We had a another great program year in 2011 and here’s what’s on the agenda for 2012:

  • Q1 at Sigma-Adrich – Diversity Confidential seminar facilitated by Gloria Carter Hicks
  • Q2 at Edward Jones -  our third annual CEO/Presidents Panel (our past panelists include Steve Lipstein of BJC Health Care, Brenda Newberry founder of the Newberry Group, Dan Button of Emerson, Ron Mullen Christian Hospital, Michael Holmes Rx Outreach and Adrian Brady of the YWCA). This event will highlight CEOs sharing why HR is relevant to their business goals.
  • Q3  marks the return of Coleman Peterson,  retired CHRO for Wal-Mart – a must attend event!
  • Q4 will host our first Panel of Diversity Practitioners enhancing our understanding of the business component of diversity and the success of inclusion.

As in years past we will facilitate quarterly quarterly  Development Sessions and a study group for the SHRM certification. NAAAHR is very proud of our pass rate of our study groups.   We’re off to a great 2012 and only need YOU to complete our goals of providing quality programming, HR learning and networking!

It is my sincere hope that you will join us in 2012 to ensure our strategic programming reaches as many HR professionals as possible. While we are an African American HR organization, our membership and programming is open and inclusive of all HR professionals and constituents.

Warmest regards,

Jada D. Jenkins-Reese
